Spiritual Direction
All of us come to a place in our lives when we are not sure where to go next or we feel stuck in our current circumstances. Sometimes it is helpful to share what is on our heart, soul and mind to another person. We can begin to heal just by having someone who will listen and to help bring clarity as to what the Spirit might be inviting us to do next. We offer both individual and group spiritual direction. There is no set fee for this service. However, we do request you pray about making a donation to support the work we are doing.

Teresa brings 30 years of her own personal discovery, along with highly specialized spiritual direction training from the Shalem Institute located in Washington DC. She is also a Certified Lay Christian Counselor.

Upcoming Events

Our Book Clubs

The Christian Meditation Center is offering a new book club. Check out the details below!

Wednesdays – beginning April 18th from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at 137 Sewall Road, Bridgeton, NJ. The club will meet on Wednesdays until we finish the book. This is a great opportunity to get involved with a small supportive group and to learn more about Christian meditation and the contemplative life. We will read Invitation of Love: The Way of Christian Contemplation by Thomas Keating

Book Description: Invitation to Love provides a road map for the journey that begins when Centering Prayer is seriously undertaken. Pointing to some of the recognizable landmarks on this journey, as well as to its ultimate destination, Father Keating addresses common questions regarding contemplative practice: How will it affect my life? Where does it lead us spiritually? What obstacles will I encounter along the way? How does it work? Following on from Open Mind, Open Heart, this book establishes a dialogue between the insights of contemporary psychology and the classic Christian spiritual masters, providing a solid conceptual background for the practice of Centering Prayer. This is a practical book, articulating the stages of the process of spiritual growth, and outlining how we might develop a deeper relationship with God and move from contemplation to action.

The practice of Christian meditation is for all of God's children. Everyone is invited to experience the presence of God in their lives.

All participants are responsible for purchasing the book. For more information or to register call Teri Yerkes at 856-404-5704 or email tyerkes@christianmeditationcenter.org.

We will also offer a Book Club in the Fall. More details to follow.

Spring Retreat -- Making Love Our Priority

Spring is in the air and I feel inspired to talk about love. How wonderful it would be to have an uplifting discussion on the topic that Jesus made our priority. We will talk about the different types of love, how to move deeper in our relationship with God, others and ourselves and what to do when love is not a many splendored thing.

The retreat is scheduled for Sunday, April 29 from 1 – 4 p.m. at 368 S. Tuckahoe Road, Williamstown, NJ. Join us for a time of learning and sharing. There is no cost to attend, however a love offering to the Christian Meditation Center would be appreciated. To register, please contact Teresa Yerkes at 856-404-5704 (phone or text) or email at tyerkes@christianmeditationcenter.org.

Fall Retreat – Finding His Power in Silence and Stillness

Our Fall weekend retreat Finding His Power in Silence and Stillness is scheduled for September 28 – 30th.

Most of us are familiar with the verse, “Be still and know I am God.” But what most of us don’t know is the power that is found by just sitting in God’s presence and being still. We will explore how meditation can provide you with the pathway for discovering the peace and calm within. Come join us!

The cost of the retreat is $149 per person. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to register. Meals and refreshments are provided.

Retreat Presenter: Teresa Yerkes, Founder of the Christian Meditation Center.

This retreat is sponsored by the Board of Directors of the Christian Meditation Center.
